YOUR JOURNEY WITH LASERCHROME
Here are some Answers to our Most Popular Questions.
Let the Journey Begin!

1. Getting Started with Laserchrome

Let's Get Started with your Laserchrome Project by scheduling  a visit to our production facility in Melbourne, Florida. Please call and schedule an Appointment and Consultation where we can spend some time, get to know each other and take a look at some of your Fine Art or Photo Files. We are happy to show you the latest materials and production techniques, and help you select the Perfect Combination in making your work the best it can be.

If you can't visit in person, we can discuss your needs by phone or email and hopefully this web site will answer many of your questions. For over 40 years, we have worked world-wide and have always exceeded expectations!

2. Place Your Order

Placing your Order can be done in many ways... whatever works best for you. You can stop by Laserchrome and bring your Fine Art or Photo Files. You can send Art or files to us by UPS or FedEx providing good tracking. You can send Digital Files by email (small sizes) or Dropbox or other cloud storage by sending us a link. We also have a dedicated Uploader in the Website which we prefer. Whichever method, please be specific on what you want produced.

When received, all orders will be reviewed on large color-calibrated monitors and if there are any issues or question you will be contacted, so please include the best contact info with your order. Once reviewed and accepted, your order normally will be produced in 5-7 business days. Quality requires Time and many processes simply can't be rushed. Remember, everything at Laserchrome is hand-crafted for the best possible Quality!

You will be contacted by phone or email when your work is complete. You can stop by to pick it up, or we can ship it to you. All order will ship by FedEx, usually FedEx ground. Shipping charges will be our actual cost, we do not make money on shipping, it's a service. We will try to combine items for the best shipping cost.

3. What Are The Printing Requirements

Laserchrome has in-house printers up to 72" wide. However, most print sizes that we offer are based on the available printing media, coatings and mounting substrates. Many Fine Art papers are available up tp 44" only while Photo papers are 50" to 60". Most mounting substrates come as standard 48"x96".

The Best Digital File Format for our printing is RGB TIF or Photoshop PSD in either 8 bit or 16 bit, color space should be set to Adobe 1998 RGB. We can also print from PDF and JPEG files, but please be careful as they can be very destructive to the Quality of the Digital File. Remember, the more times you open and resave a JPEG, the more destructive it is.

We recommend a resolution or 150-200 ppi for the best results. Good results are down to 100ppi and below that, you take your chances. Also, it's best to not res up your files. Our Laserchrome interpolator does a much better job during the printing process.

4. Production Schedule

Laserchrome operates its Production Department Monday through Friday each week. Nights, Weekends, Holidays and Vacations are spent with family and friends and are as special to us as they are to you. Balance in Life is necessary to doing Quality Work.

Production is Scheduled as we receive your Orders. When your order is received and approved, you are given the next available slot on the Production Schedule.  Most times we have a steady schedule, but holidays and especially Art Festival seasons can be very busy. Please be Patient, we are doing our best to get jobs completed on-time and with Laserchrome Quality.

Phone messages and emails are checked 3-4 times a day and we will get back to you as soon as possible, always within 24 hours. We do not have or carry any  phones or email in our Production and Shop Areas. Some of our machines are large and can be dangerous if the operator is distracted.

5. Payments

Laserchrome requires complete contact information and a current credit card on file before any jobs begin work. A 50% deposit is required on all jobs over $500.00. The Balance of Payment is due when the job is completed (before pickup and before shipping). We accept Checks (prepayment), Cash, Visa and Master Card only.
Please send us a resale certificate for the state your order is shipped to.

Your order normally enters production the day after it is received. Changes or cancellations can not be accommodated once production begins and payment will be charged for the portion of work completed.

Rush Jobs may incur Rush Charges, we will advise you of any additional charges before production begins.
